WHAT TIME IS IT?

How you noticed how quickly time is passing?  The clocks turned back one hour but time marches on.

This Little Christmas, November 25, comes a few days after the Solemnity of Christ the King and a day before Thanksgiving, which is followed quickly by the First Sunday of Advent!

Being followers of Jesus does not promise us a life of leisure but rather a life of love and humility.  All lives have their ups and downs: the polarizing rhetoric of our times exacerbating the divisions in our nation and world, the yawning gap between those barely making it and the billionaires, the climate change’s impact on ecosystems from coral reefs to forests rapidly leading to species extinction, peoples wandering the world looking for safety, peace and justice... all the world seems to be in constant upheaval.   These troubles stimulate the hearts of those who seek a new heaven and a new earth.

The mystic, Blessed Celeste, humbly emptied her heart and found it filled with an ocean of love.  She responded: “O, what kind of thanks can I give you, O King of my heart?!  You spoke to my heart with the sweetest words (revealing) that You gave me your Son that He might be the Lover of my heart and that I might live a life of love in the world by dwelling in His heart. I give you infinite thanks and am humbled and grateful for this truth.”   Do we understand this incredibly immense truth?  We won’t until we empty our hearts and live in humble gratitude.

The first part of Advent speaks of the Second Coming.  Of that Celeste says, “It shall become evident when Christ’s glory and all His divine actions are revealed like the Burning Rays of the Sun.  They were performed by Christ-the-Wayfarer in infinite love and humility which brought about our salvation by His most holy death and precious resurrection."   Our salvation, our rising to glory, depends on living our lives with deep faith and hope, humility and patience.  We are called to bask in the burning Rays of the Sun “...in a climate of intimacy with the Lord and of silent intercession for the salvation of the world.’

So, as November comes to a close, let us thank the King of our hearts and manifest in our lives God’s all-encompassing love as we welcome and await the coming of Christ.  It's time.  Now.
